Traitrs (CAN) + Abus Lang (SE)
Overview:
Klubb Död (Stockholm) collaborates with PlusOne (Gothenburg) and proudly presents a packed night of two contemporary amazing postpunk acts from Canada and Sweden; Traitrs (CAN) and support act Abus Lang (SE).
About the artists:
TRAITRS - With their emotional melodies, driving rhythms, angular guitars and dark cinematic electronics, TRAITRS has quickly become one of the fastest growing bands in modern post-punk. TRAITRS, consisting of Sean-Patrick Nolan and Shawn Tucker, formed in the summer of 2015 in Toronto, Canada. The duo recorded demos with producer Josh Korody (Nailbiter, F*cked Up, Japandroids, Dilly Dally), and caught the attention of Pleasence Records CEO James Lindsay, subsequently releasing their debut cassette "Rites And Ritual" in April 2016. After gaining attention in the European and North American music scenes, TRAITRS released their critically acclaimed LP "Butcher's Coin" (Pleasence Records, Manic Depression Records, Alchera Visions) in May 2018. Backed by the strength of their first single 'Thin Flesh', the duo embarked on a series of overseas tours, performing in over a dozen countries including Wave Gothic Treffen, Castle Party, Extramuralhas, Nocturnal Culture Night, Wavefest, Canadian Music Week and Pop! Montreal. They caught the attention of Schubert Music Publishing's Thomas Thyssen and Eric Burton, and in October 2020 they announced that
TRAITRS would be the first signing to their brand new label Freakwave Records.
ABUS LANG - Abus Lang emerged from the remnants of the once acclaimed Swedish indie act Eldoradio. The idea behind Abus Lang was to delve into different tonalities within the framework of indie and punk rock. The duo quickly developed a passion for synths and discovered the limitless sonic possibilities they could bring to their music, while still holding on to their beloved guitar lines. Drawing inspiration from iconic scenes such as the early punk scene in London, The Hacienda in Manchester, and the American goth scene in 90s New York, Abus Lang's music paints a vivid and precise picture. Their sound has been described as a fresh, ethereal and poignant tribute to Gothenburg's musical heritage, with influential elements from acts such as Lust For Youth and The Tough Alliance.
