Description

Overview:

Klubb Död (Stockholm) once again collaborates with PlusOne (Gothenburg) and proudly presents Then Comes Silence (SE) plus two local Berlin acts: Götterdämmerung and Night Nail. The evening also offers DJ Aux Animeaux (SE) in addition to the fantastic bands.

About the artists:

Then Comes Silence (SE) – Then Comes Silence hail from Stockholm, Sweden and were founded by Alex Svenson, the only original member from the band’s beginnings in 2012. The inspiration came from touring frequently with A Place To Bury Strangers and an attraction to horror and the occult. A couple of years later the German post-punk community started to embrace the band and Then Comes Silence found a new home away from home. After releasing three albums in quick succession, Then Comes Silence were signed to Nuclear Blast in 2016 for the release of “Blood”. The partnership opened a lot of opportunities. The band started to reach out to a wider audience, opening for acts like The Fields of the Nephilim, The Chameleons, A Place To Bury Strangers and participating in festivals like M’era Luna, Wave Gotik Treffen, Amphi Festival, Castle Party and W-Festival among others.

Later, following up with dual record deals, Then Comes Silence signed for another album deal with Metropolis Records. Drummer Jonas Fransson joined in 2015 and guitarist Hugo Zombie (ex-Los Carniceros del Norte) became a member in 2018. Then Comes Silence are highly reputed in the front line of the new generation of goth, post-punk and darkwave, being well-known for frequently releasing high quality new material and as a hard-working touring band which is one of the genre’s leading live acts.

“Trickery”, the band’s seventh album was released in April 2024, and celebrates friendship, unity and the feeling of belonging to a group, a tribe. Being a part of what most people would call the goth and post-punk community is, according to the band, a great privilege.

Götterdämmerung (DE) – Götterdämmerung was formed in August 1991. Götterdämmerung style is a combination of gothic/deathrock, post-punk and noise. The first album was released in 1994 on the Dion Fortune Label to good reviews, and of course more releases followed. Götterdämmerung is something of a forbidden fruit in the gothic/post-punk scene; known by many, yet they remain underground and sometimes unknown to the larger public.

In 2021 the band celebrated their 30th anniversary, and at the same time they rose like a phoenix from the flames; armed with a fresh line-up and a new record deal with Alice In../Dark Dimensions. The album entitled “Intensity Zone” was released in September 2022 on vinyl, digital and CD, to great reviews. “Intensity Zone” marked the return to the old school deathrock/post-punk style, filled with aggression, energy, passion, and a much rawer sound. Different, yet unmistakably Götterdämmerung. The concerts clearly showed a reinvigorated band, not ready to bow out any time soon. A new album called “A Violent Sky” is going to be released in 2024, showing again a different side of Götterdämmerung. The songs on this album are very atmospheric, filled with hooks, surprising twists and rooted in darkness and melancholy.

Night Nail (DE) – Berlin’s darkwave band, Night Nail, formed in 2013 in Los Angeles, CA. After Night Nail moved to Berlin, Germany in April 2018, “LA Demons”, was released on Cleopatra Records and their second album “March To Autumn,” was released in Oct 2020 on Cold Transmission. Night Nail’s third album, ”Fates Explained” was be released on November 17th 2023 on Metropolis Records.
