Overview:
Klubb Död in collaboration with PlusOne are extremely happy to be able to present an evening with three fantastic bands that span several genres within the electronic and post-punk scene. No Sleep by the Machine (from Stockholm) stands for the heavier part, they could fit in with the Belgian founders of the EBM scene. Unify Separate (also from the capitol) offers a more futuristic soundscape with a softer appearance. Beat Novet is our local post-punk band that runs dark and monotonous with two charismatic members. The evening also offers great DJs, and you can also eat a good piece of food before the festivities start, so don't miss it!
About the artists:
No Sleep by the Machine (SE) – Energy, joy of playing and musical darkness is what we start on. From the start in 2004 where we started making the music we ourselves wanted to see and hear on the electro scene to our first gig in 2009 and continued until today, we have managed to release two full-lengths and twelve EPs. We've been going for 20 years and for 15 of those we've been playing live, mostly around Europe. The audience we meet and the feeling we get from it makes it feel like we started yesterday. We continue, as we have done from the beginning, to keep an uncomplicated approach to what we do: peel back, let the essence of the music come out and stand for what we are right then and there, here and now. Drums, leads, some strings plus some tinkling and singing! After several successful gigs in Germany and at Bodyfest, we have finally got them here in Gothenburg!
Unify Separate (SE) - Unify Separate is the Swedish-Scottish duo Andrew Montgomery and Leo Josefsson, whose dark, beautiful and mesmerizing synthpop is steadily gaining recognition on the electronic music scene. With a unique voice, which is equal parts soul and choirboy, Montgomery broke through in the Britpop era with Geneva on Nude Records (1996-2000), and toured with Suede. Josefsson is well known in the synth scene with the bands Lowe and Statemachine, which have been recognized with several Scandinavian Alternative Music Awards (Best Newcomer, Best Live Act, Best Song and Best Album). As a producer, he won a Grammy in 2023. Unify Separate's live show is both an intense and rich experience, where their futuristic look and majestic and exciting sound are as convincing on arena stages as in small intimate clubs.
Beat Novet (SE) – Beat Novet is an electronic band from Gothenburg. Musically they move between different genres but the influences come from the Dark Wave and Minimal Wave scene. Expect a mix of Dark Wave, EBM, dark synthpop and danceable beats in the borderland between the conventional and the odd. The vocals are partly dark and cold, partly hard and driving. On stage, the duo gives a stripped-down show with an electronic drum set and the female singer at the center. The aesthetic is simple and minimal with a focus on the music
